Thanks
to Cecile for hosting our September meeting at her studio. It’s always fun to visit and see the all the
new fabrics.
Thank
you to Cecile and Kayley for their Demos!
Cecile showed us how to put a hidden zipper in a pillowcase sham. And, Kayley shared with us her applique
technique on how to make the perfect circle.
Such fun to see new things.
Hope you
are all working on your Thanksgiving Challenge for Charity. A quilt and book for the PCRF-kids.org this
holiday season. On November 19th meeting, we will vote and choose a
winner for the challenge and then they will be donate. So excited.
If you need any philanthropy fabric, please contact Bunnie and she will
arrange a time for you to stop by. We
will also have some fabric at the Oct 11th
sew.
We were
all set up and executed the Flying Geese Quilt Show at Soka University with
precise thanks to Bunnie and all of her hard work. Additionally, thanks to her husband, the set
up crew and the volunteers who helped man the booth over the weekend. There was a lot of interest generated. Maybe we will have some new members next
meeting – fingers crossed.
Woohoo –
thanks to Kathy and her donation of 34 pillowcase, we have surpassed our goal
of 100 pillowcase for the Million Pillowcase challenge. That doesn’t mean we are stopping, if you
wish and enjoy sewing pillowcase, please continue to do so.
We had
lots of show and tell and some quilters block.
Next
month, Sandy will demonstrate curve piecing technique. Looking forward to seeing you all their on
Oct 29th at Cosmic Quilting.
But
don’t forget about our monthly sew on October 11 at Cosmic Quilting – bring
whatever you would like to work on.
See you
all then.
